Shooting Investigation Underway in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg Police detectives are investigating an attempted homicide after a man was found shot inside his home Thursday night.

According to investigators, a neighbor contacted police at 8:47 p.m. on October 30 after discovering 44-year-old Jerome Smith bleeding at his residence at 833 21st Avenue South. No one else was home at the time.

Officers arrived and found Smith suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in very critical condition.
