On the evening of June 7th, at approximately 11:43 p.m., an incident unfolded at the intersection of 14th Avenue South and 35th Street South. Savarion Miller, age 23, fired shots at an officer who was present in an unmarked vehicle at the time.
Fortunately, the officer remained unharmed and promptly drove away from the scene without retaliating.
Following the shooting, the suspect quickly fled from the area and eventually crashed his vehicle at the intersection of 38th Avenue North and 21st Street North. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this collision.
Responding officers in the vicinity swiftly located and apprehended Miller.
The charges filed against Miller include the following:
- Attempted Murder in the 1st Degree
- Driving While Driver’s License Suspended/Revoked
- Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Property Damage
- Reckless Driving with Property Damage or Injury
As of now, the investigation into this incident is still in progress, with law enforcement agencies diligently working to gather additional information and evidence.
