Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Sand Key Beach in Clearwater

Clearwater Police are currently on-scene with a small plane that made an emergency
landing on the beach on Sand Key.

The plane landed about 12:50 PM on a deserted stretch of sand south of the Sheraton.

Two people were on board the aircraft and no injuries were reported.

The FAA has been notified.   The pilot reported he had some type of mechanical issue before landing.
