Son Burglarizes Parents’ Home with Girlfriend to Kill Family Dog

According to the Pinellas County Office, Deputies responded to a Burglary call on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 8:19 PM. It occurred at 1593 Mary Lane in Tarpon Springs where the victims, Alan and Laura Adams, reported the house has been broken into. In addition, their IPad was stolen and their 4 year old Labrador Retriever, Daisy, was deceased.
Detectives were able to determine the victims’ 34 year-old son, Daniel E. Adams and his 28 year-old girlfriend, Lauren M. Curran, had committed the burglary.
During interviews with detectives Daniel admitted he and Lauren drove to his parents’ home, with their child, with the intention of killing the dog. They committed the burglary and stole the IPad in an attempt to make his parents believe someone else had committed the crime. Daniel and Lauren both confirmed Lauren killed the dog with an intravenous needle filled with an unknown medication.
Daniel and Lauren were arrested on January 28, 2015 and charged with Burglary, Cruelty To Animals and Child Abuse.
