St. Petersburg police arrest man for attempted murder after stabbing his brother in the chest

Police officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department responded to a house in the 2000 block of Queensboro Avenue South for a stabbing at approximately 5:11 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

Two adult brothers had gotten into an altercation when 37 year-old Jerald Nelson, used a kitchen knife to stab his brother in the chest. He also threatened another family member.

Upon his arrest, Nelson stated to officers that he hopes his brother dies, according to arrest documentation.

The brother suffered a serious, but non-life threatening, injury and was treated at a hospital.

Nelson was arrested and faces two counts of attempted murder in the second degree.
