Structure fire displaces residents from four apartment units in St. Petersburg

At approximately 2:00pm, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, a fire broke out at 3030 5th St N, in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue was alerted to the incident and responded to the scene. Crews arrived and began their efforts to extinguish the fire, which originated in one of the apartment units.

Firefighters contained the fire protecting the surrounding structures. There were no reported injuries among the residents or emergency personnel. However, four apartment units were affected by the fire, subsequent smoke, and water damage.

The affected residents have been temporarily displaced and some of the residents are receiving assistance from Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by a Fire Investigator from St. Petersburg Fire Rescue.
