At approximately 11:00 a.m., St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to reports of “whole home is engulfed” in the 1700 block of 19th St S at approximately 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Firefighters arrived to find a single-family home with all the occupants outside safe. Crews were able to isolate the fire from spreading to neighboring homes. There were no injuries, and the bulk of the fire was out.
The home’s roof collapsed, keeping some areas hot, so firefighters remained on the scene to ensure complete extinguishment.
The situation is under control, and the scene is still active. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the Fire Investigator is responding.
