St. Petersburg Police have arrested 39-year-old Jeffrey Allen Green on a charge of Attempted First-Degree Murder following a shooting that occurred early on December 1, 2025.
According to the arrest affidavit, officers responded at approximately 1:17 a.m. to the 900 block of 23rd Avenue South after a report of a woman who had been shot. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper groin/leg area. The round narrowly missed her femoral artery. A passerby transported her to a hospital.
Investigators reported that Green solicited the victim for prostitution. The affidavit states that the victim initially agreed but changed her mind after entering Green’s vehicle and removing her clothes. She exited the vehicle, and Green followed her while demanding that she complete the sexual act or return his money. He allegedly stated he would kill her. The victim saw a firearm in his hand and attempted to flee before being shot.
The victim later identified Green through a photo pack.
After being advised of his rights, Green told detectives he solicited the victim and admitted he became angry when she attempted to leave. He stated that he drew his firearm, pointed it at her, and that it discharged accidentally, striking her. He then left the scene while the victim remained injured in the street.
Green was arrested on December 4, 2025, and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. He is being held without bond.
As with all criminal cases, the allegations in the affidavit have not been proven, and Green is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
