Swift Response by Tampa Fire Rescue Prevents Major Damage at Alessi Bakery

At approximately 8:50 p.m. on July 10th, 2023, Tampa Fire Rescue teams were called to Alessi Bakery in the 2900 block of W. Cypress Street.

The reported incident involved a structure fire, specifically at the back, outside refrigerator/freezer area of the commercial bakery. Upon reaching the scene, firefighters observed flames and took swift action by deploying hose lines to extinguish the fire.

Their prompt response effectively contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to the main section of the bakery. Thankfully, there were no occupants present during the incident, and no injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters.

The fire was successfully brought under control within 25 minutes of the initial arrival of the first responders. Currently, the Tampa Fire Marshal’s office is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.

The incident was classified as a single-alarm fire, prompting the dispatch of approximately 30 firefighters to the location.
