Tampa Police is currently on scene investigating a three-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of the Courtney Campbell Causeway before the bridge’s incline.
The crash involved a sedan, pickup truck, and motorcycle. Four subjects were transported to a local hospital. One subject, the driver of the pickup truck, is believed to have suffered critical injuries. The other subjects are believed to have suffered serious injuries.
The motorcyclist was ejected off the motorcycle and thrown into the water. He was assisted back to shore.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
All westbound lanes of the CCC were closed for several hours. All lanes of the Courtney Campbell Causeway reopened at approximately 7:15 p.m.
