Tarpon Springs Police Searching for Man After Bank Robbery at the Chase Bank
Tarpon Springs Police was currently investigating a bank robbery at the Chase Bank located at 41206 US Hwy 19. The robbery occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018.
According to police, a subject entered the Chase Bank and approached a teller advising that he had a gun and demanded money. The subject handed the teller a black duffel type bag and ordered the teller to place the cash inside. The subject was given an undisclosed amount of currency and immediately left the bank.
At this time it is believed that the suspect left the scene on foot. No suspect vehicle was observed departing the area. No bank employees were injured during this incident and the suspect stated that he possessed a gun but did not produce one and only implied that he was armed.
The suspect was wearing a dark blue navy suit, with white dress shirt and tie and was wearing a gray colored cabbie, or newsboy, type cap. He was described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, between 5’11”-6″02″, thin build and wearing prescription type eyeglasses. See attached suspect photo.
