Tarpon Springs: Teen Stabbed in the Chest While at Work in an Apparent Attempted Strong Arm Robbery
At approximately 3:23 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018, the Tarpon Springs Police Department recieved a 911 call from 41522 US 19 N (Crossfit) regarding an employee that was outside in the parking lot and had been stabbed.
A 16 year old employee of Crossfit was out by the business’s truck in the parking lot when a Hispanic male described as younger possibly in his 20’s exited a newer style beige SUV and came up behind the 16 year old grabbing him by the shorts and searching for items, while making a comment regarding giving him what he had.
At this point the victim turned and the suspect began to swing a knife at the victim, stabbing the victim in the upper right chest area. The victim fell to the ground but was able to get up and runaway back towards and into the business. The suspect jumped back into the drivers seat of the vehicle and fled towards US 19.
The victim was taken to hospital via ambulance for what appeared to be a non-life threatening stab wound.
Detectives located, and took into custody, the suspect in this incident on Friday, 10/19/18, at his residence in Spring Hill.
The suspect is identified as 17 year-old Dedson Hallon Suas of 10424 Ventura Drive, Spring Hill, Fl.
He was located from leads that detectives received from a witness to the incident who copied the tag number down of Suas’ vehicle.
The knife) was recovered during the investigation.
Suas will be charged with attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery
