Early morning structure fire investigation continues in St. Petersburg

Investigators remain on-scene of a fire reported at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 5010 22nd Street N.

Multiple reports were received reporting a “whole house on fire.” Firefighters from St. Petersburg Fire Rescue encountered a large garage-like building in the backyard of the address with fire showing above the trees.

Crews immediately knocked the fire back so it did not spread to neighboring houses. While extinguishing the fire and moving through the debris, crews heard an adult male yell out for help, at approximately 6 a.m.
