Crews from Clearwater Fire & Rescue and Clearwater Police were dispatched to a storage facility located at 1303 North Myrtle Avenue N in Clearwater. The call for service was at approximately 9:06 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020.
Multiple calls were received from neighbors about smoke and flames coming from the roof of the storage facility.
Arriving crews quickly evacuated the residents from the homes on the east side of the building due to the large number of embers blowing into that direction. Nearby trees were also beginning to burn from the intense fire.
