Three Georgia Men Arrested for Street Racing on I-4 in Hillsborough County

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol arrested three men from Georgia on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at approximately 12:45 a.m. following a high-speed street racing incident on Interstate 4.

According to officials, a Corvette was first observed traveling westbound at 97 MPH. Shortly afterward, two Dodge Challengers were seen accompanying the Corvette. Near Milepost 22, all three vehicles briefly reduced speed to 80 MPH before accelerating to speeds exceeding 120 MPH.

Troopers reported that the vehicles maneuvered aggressively through traffic, making multiple lane changes and using the shoulder to pass other vehicles. All three were eventually stopped by law enforcement.

The drivers—ages 39, 37, and 34—were arrested for racing on highways. All three vehicles were impounded for 30 days in accordance with Florida law.
