HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – On September 6, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on southbound I-75 near the 268 Milepost.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Dodge Charger driven by a 25-year-old Tampa man was traveling at about 100 miles per hour with bald tires when the driver lost control on the wet roadway. The vehicle rotated, left the highway, struck an embankment, became airborne, and collided with several trees before coming to rest.
Two passengers, a 24-year-old Riverview man and a 25-year-old Land O’ Lakes man, were also in the vehicle. All three occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
