Tampa Police Investigate Targeted Shooting That Leaves One Dead, Three Injured
TAMPA, FL (February 18, 2025) — The Tampa Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured four people, one of whom has died, in East Tampa on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired near 2600 E 28th Ave shortly before 12:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered three victims at the scene. A fourth victim, linked to the same incident, was later identified. The four males, ranging in their late 20s to early 30s, were transported to a local hospital. One victim was pronounced deceased, while the other three are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary findings suggest the shooting was a targeted attack, and authorities believe there is no ongoing threat to the public. Detectives actively interview witnesses and analyze footage from nearby cameras as part of the investigation.
