St. Petersburg Fire Rescue crews responded yesterday at approximately 8 p.m. to a large fire at a three-story residential building under construction off Bayshore Boulevard Northeast. Upon arrival, firefighters found the structure fully engulfed in flames.
The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Crews immediately focused on protecting nearby homes, preventing the blaze from spreading. One neighboring building sustained minor damage from radiant heat.
Aerial units were deployed to attack the fire from above, and crews worked through the night to bring it under control. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
