Troopers investigate pedestrian fatality in crash on Ulmerton Road

A 72-year-old Largo man was fatally injured in a pedestrian crash on Ulmerton Road near the intersection of 34th Street North.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, when the pedestrian attempted to cross the highway. According to authorities, the man entered the path of an eastbound Mazda CX-9 driven by a 60-year-old woman from Tampa.

The pedestrian was struck and sustained serious injuries. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the Mazda was not reported to have been injured. Authorities have not released the identities of those involved.

The crash remains under investigation.
