Turbulence on Allegiant flight en route to St Pete-Clearwater International Airport injures passengers

Multiple passengers reportedly suffered injuries aboard Allegiant Flight 227, a 2017 Airbus A320, due to inflight turbulence.

The flight originated in Asheville, NC at 2:06 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 enroute to St Pete-Clearwater International Airport. The flight landed shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Multiple first responders were dispatched to the scene and cared for the injured passengers. At least four ambulances were requested to respond. Due to the injuries to one passenger, a trauma alert was declared.

No injuries are considered life-threatening.. According to Allegiant, two passengers and two flight attendants were treated for injuries. They were transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
