Sarasota, FL – A hit-and-run crash in Sarasota on the night of February 10, 2025, left two children dead and a woman critically injured. Sarasota Police Department (SPD) officers responded around 8:30 p.m. to the area of SR 683 (North Washington Blvd/U.S. 301) and 7th Street following reports of a vehicle striking pedestrians.
According to investigators, the suspect vehicle—a white Lexus ES300 model year 2013-2018—fled the scene. The victims, a 29-year-old woman, a 2-year-old, and a 5-month-old, were transported to area hospitals under trauma alerts. The two children later succumbed to their injuries, while the woman remains in critical condition.
The SPD Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation and asked for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect vehicle. It was last seen traveling south on SR 683, making a U-turn near 5th Street before heading east on 7th Street. The car is believed to have damaged the right front quarter panel and windshield.
