Two dead after altercation leads to an overnight shooting in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg Police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead.

Very limited details are available at this this time. The shooting occurred on 33rd St. S. near Fairfield shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021.

Investigators believe there was an altercation between three men that led to the shooting. The shooter turned himself in to police and he is being questioned at this time.

The victims are identified as 31 year-old Alair J. Moncrieffe and 49 year-old Timothy Lemar Marshall.

Detectives arrested 26 year-old Marquis Leonard Herring on a murder charge for killing Moncrieffe.

He is charged with one count of 2nd degree murder. Possible additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation
