Two dead following a vehicle crash involving an SUV and a tow truck in St. Petersburg

Investigators are on the scene of a vehicle crash that killed two adults and seriously injured a child.

The vehicle crash, involving a small SUV and a tow truck, occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 5th Avenue South and 22nd Street.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the two adults in the SUV died from their injuries. One passenger, a child, was transported to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.

St. Petersburg officers are investigating, and the intersection will be closed for several hours.
