Two Tampa Firefighters Injured in Crash Responding to Emergency Incident

Two Tampa Firefighters were transported to Tampa General Hospital following a motor vehicle collision Thursday morning at the intersection of  North Nebraska and Bougainvillea Avenues.

The firefighter paramedics were  responding in a rescue truck to the auto versus pedestrians incident at  Bougainvillea and Marvy when the collision.occurred at approximately 8:15 a.m.

The rescue was traveling southbound on Nebraska and turning east (left) onto Bougainvillea when it was hit by another vehicle, a black sedan, which made contact with the driver’s side of the rescue car causing it to hit a concrete power pole on the southeast corner of the intersection.

The rescue truck’s driver paramedic was knocked unconscious as a result of the collision.

Both of the occupants of the rescue (paramedic driver and a lieutenant) were transported to Tampa General Hospital for treatment and observation.

Both of the firefighters are in stable condition.

The driver of the other automobile was transported to Florida Hospital Tampa by Hillsborough County.
Fire Rescue. Tampa Police Department is in charge of the investigation.
