Two Flee Burning BMW After DUI Crash in Early Morning Pinellas Crash
The crash occurred at about 12:34 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 62nd Ave N and Westchester Blvd.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 23 year-old Nathaniel Combs was traveling eastbound on 62nd Avenue North at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a sharp curve in the roadway at Westchester Boulevard.  He was driving a 2015 BMW 320I.
The BMW rotated as it traveled onto the northeast shoulder of the roadway as it then collided with a fence. Upon colliding with the fence, which punctured the vehicle’s gas tank, the vehicle erupted in flames.
Both Combs and his passenger 22 year-old Joseph Chapman fled the scene of the crash on foot.  They were both apprehended and FHP Troopers arrested Nathaniel Combs.
He is facing charges of leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and DUI with property damage. He was transported into the Pinellas County Jail with bail of $750.
