Two Killed, Two Injured in Early Morning Crash in Manatee County

MANATEE COUNTY – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left two people dead and two others injured early Saturday morning in Parrish.

According to FHP, the crash occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. on August 9, 2025, when a Dodge Charger was traveling south on Silverleaf Avenue near U.S. 301 at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees.

The driver, a 19-year-old man from Ellenton, and a 19-year-old male passenger from Parrish were pronounced dead at the scene. FHP said neither was wearing a seatbelt.

A 17-year-old male passenger from Parrish, who was also unrestrained, suffered critical injuries, and a 16-year-old female passenger from Holtsville, New York, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries. Both were transported to a local hospital.

FHP stated that the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
