Officers from the Clearwater Police Department (CPD) responded to a retail store parking lot at the corner of Drew Street and US Hwy 19 at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021.
CPD received multiple calls regarding the naked man attacking customers in front of the store and in the parking lot.
Video shows the man, identified as 19 year-old Dedson Hallon Suas of Clearwater, exiting the Rooms to Go Outlet and approaching people in the parking lot.
Arriving officers located the man running along Drew Street. An officer in a foot pursuit took him into custody after deploying an Electronic Control Device.
Suas was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
He is facing charges of felony battery and resisting arrest without violence.
Suas was arrested in 2018 for Tarpon Springs for stabbing a 16 year-old in the chest in an apparent attempted strong arm robbery. More info on that case can be found here
