Utility Pole Fire Sunday Afternoon In Seminole

At approximately 5:30PM on Sunday evening, crews from Seminole Fire Rescue, Pinellas Suncoast Fire & Rescue and Largo Fire Rescue responded to 7103 Seminole Boulevard. Arriving crews found a utility pole and junction box engulfed in flames. Power was cutoff to the adjoining KFC restaurant to prevent possible spreading of the fire.
Once Duke Energy arrived to de-energize the main electrical feed to the pole, crews were able to rapidly extinguish the fire.
Duke Energy remained on-scene to replace and repair the damaged infrastructure.
