Reward offered leading to an arrest in fatal hit-and-run crash in St. Petersburg

Investigators from the St. Petersburg Police Department continue to investigate a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 22nd Avenue and 41st Street N.

The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Karen Moorefield of St. Petersburg.

Investigators say that a westbound vehicle struck her as she was walking across 22nd
Avenue North near 41st Street. She died at the scene. The driver did not remain at the scene.

A $10,000 reward is now offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Officers located the 2013 red Cadillac SRX during the weekend of January 6, 2024. Investigators continue to search for additional information.
