Largo Police Detectives announced the arrest of 17 year-old Nathan Singhavong for attempted homicide of his stepmother, battery on a person 65 or older (the victims father), and tampering with physical evidence.
Singhavong is the stepson of the preganant woman attacked this morning. He lived in the same home as the woman for the past year.
Singhavong’s father was out of town during this incident. He admitted to detectives that he staged the burglary to cover his attack on his stepmother.
He was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center for processing. No further information at this time.

On February 21, 2017, Largo Police Officers responded to 809 7th St NW in reference to an home invasion. It occurred at about 6:15 AM.
According to Lt. Joe Coyle of LPD, officers arrived on scene and observed a female with lacerations to her face and hands.
The victim advised that she woke up to a noise coming from the bathroom area of the residence.
The victim reported seeing a silhouette of a male in the bathroom and then ran towards the kitchen when the suspect grabbed her from behind knocking her to the ground.
The suspect obtained a knife from the kitchen and began to slash at the victim’s face and neck.
The vctim was able to protect her neck with her hands and arms.
The victim’s father hears this and enters the kitchen jumping on the suspect’s back. The suspect was able to break away from the father and struck the victim in the face with his fists.
The suspect left the residence and at this time has not been identified.
Detectives and forensics are actively working the scene at this time.
Lt. Coyle provided a description of the suspect as being a 6-foot, 30ish year-old black male.
He is urging local residents to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious behaviors. No determination has been made as to the motive or if this was a random act of violence.
The victim is 42 years-old and 23 weeks pregnant.
She was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Her father was not injured according to police.
