A Palm Harbor woman. 43-year-old Jaime Fox of Palm Harbor was arrested early this morning after crashing into the back of a Clearwater Police cruiser assisting a disabled motorist.
The crash happened on Monday, June 10, 2024, at approximately 12:27 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Fox struck the left rear portion of the police cruiser, causing significant damage to both vehicles. The cruiser had its emergency lights activated at the time.
The officer was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital, treated, and released. Fox was taken to the Pinellas County Jail and faces charges of DUI and DUI with property damage.
The crash underscores the importance of drivers adhering to the state’s Move Over Law and avoiding driving while impaired.
