17 Year-old Female Pedestrian Killed in St. Petersburg Crash

First responders were dispatched to reports of a vehicle crash near 55th Avenue North and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Street North.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:07 AM on Monday, March 20, 2017.

According to investigators from St. Petersburg Police Department, 17 year-old Alina Marie Perez was walking across Dr. MLK Street North, from west to east, when she was struck by a northbound red Buick Rendezvous.

Perez was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in very serious condition. 

St. Petersburg police did not confirm Tuesday morning that Perez died as a result of her injuries.

There may have been a person riding a motorcycle or a scooter at this location that may have witnessed this accident. Police investigators are asking that person to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department.
