Woman killed after a vehicle crash on US-19 in Palm Harbor

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) continue to investigate the fatal crash that occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of US-19 near Colonial Boulevard in Palm Harbor.

The roadway reopened at approximately 12:30 a.m.

According to FHP, a Hyundai Sonata, driven by an 82-year-old Tarpon Springs woman, was traveling southbound on US-19.

A BMW 740i, driven by a 17-year-old Palm Harbor male, was traveling northbound on US-19.

At the intersection of Colonial Boulevard, the Sonata driver turned left into the path and was struck by the BMW.

Transported to an area hospital, the driver of the Sonata and later died from her injuries suffered during the crash.

The driver of the BMW was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
