Woman killed in single vehicle crash in St. Petersburg

Cynthia Rae Lauber, age 66, died in a rollover crash in St. Petersburg.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021. Lauber was driving a 1997 Toyota Forerunner northbound on Dr. MLK St. N when she lost control and struck an above ground water main before crashing into the wall of the Jamestown Apartments in the 8400 block of MLK.

Police say that Lauber was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the crash is unknown as the investigation continues.
