World Rescue Challenge comes to an end in Clearwater
Clearwater was the host city for the 2013 World Rescue Challenge. It is the first time that this prestigious event was held in the United States. The Challenge started on October 27th and ran through November 2nd.
The World Rescue Challenge is an event organized by the North American Vehicle Rescue Association (NAVRA). It was held at both the Clearwater Harborview Center and Coachman Park. It was a free event and the public was invited and encouraged to attend.
Firefighters and medical rescuers from all over North America and the world are took part in this event. It included the “World Auto Extrication Challenge” and the “World Trauma Challenge”.
It was a great opportunity to watch our first responders dismantle a vehicle using powerful extrication tools with surgical precision. In many real life situations, expeditious safe removal of the injured from the vehicle is essential.
The final round of the extrication challenge was held today from 8am-3pm at the Harborview Center.
