15 Year-old Teen Dead After Shooting Inside Pinellas Park Home
Pinellas Park Police continue to investigate an incident that killed 15 year-old Elijah Mayhew.
The shooting occurred on Monday, August 28, 2017 at approximately 12:45 pm.
Investigators say the shooting occurred inside of a residence located at 6500 87th Avenue North in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Police responded to the shooting scene and found 15 year old Elijah Mayhew suffering from a single gunshot wound. Paramedics treated him at the scene and transported him to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
Mayhew was pronounced deceased this morning and the family has been notified.
Investigators are working to confirm the circumstances behind the shooting as there were several subjects inside the house with Mayhew at the time of the shooting.
Investigators are also looking into how Mayhew came to be in possession of the handgun.
No further information will be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
