19-Year-Old Man Dies in Apparent Drowning at Island Estates Pool

CLEARWATER — A 19-year-old man died Thursday after being found floating in a swimming pool on Island Estates in Clearwater.

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a reported drowning shortly before noon on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The call was received at approximately 11:53 a.m. from the 100 block of Leeward Island.

The 19-year-old male was found floating in the pool and was pulled from the water. Life-saving efforts were initiated but were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the drowning has not yet been released.
