2 year-old Bane Wheeler, believed to have been taken by his father during a case of possible custodial interference.

He is 3 ft tall, 30 lbs, blonde hair, blue eyes, last seen wearing green jacket, blk and blue plaid shirt, dark pants, black tennis shoes, has a scar on the middle of his forehead and a skintag on the inside of his left bicep. He uses a nebulizer and currently has croup.

His father, 30 year-old, Daniel Wheeler who was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, khaki shorts, black hat, black shoes and white socks. He has multiple tattoos of a flaming heart on his chest, “Wheeler” on his back, a cross on his upper left arm that says “Dustin, and holding hands that says “Bane” on his right arm.

They are believed to be in a a 2005 black Nissan Altima with TN license plate 9A47V9. He took the child from outside a daycare located at 9446 US 19 just before 10am on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.

Possibly traveling north toward the state of Tennessee.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference Tuesday evening at 6:45 PM. In this press conference, they described how Bane was grabbed and thrown into a car. No specific sighting have been reported but they are currently following up on leads.

Mr. Wheeler came down from Tennessee in the middle of a custody dispute. He reportedly came in town today for a custody hearing in an attempt to get emergency custody. At today’s hearing, the courts denied the request. After the denial, he got a friend to distract the mother as she was picking up the child from daycare. Wheeler snatched Bane out of the mother’s hands. It is unclear when Bane last saw his father or if even he even recognized him.

PCSO also discussed the delay between the reported abduction and the issuance of the Amber Alert. They report that custody issues needed to be checked prior to the issuance of the Alert due to vast amounts of past parental documentation.

Authorities report that they did make contact with Mr. Wheeler via telephone very early on. He refused to cooperate or provide any information. It is not confirmed but Wheeler may be with another female.

Captain Eric Seltzer of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has a few words for Mr. Wheeler, “Think of Bane. Think of his safety. Turn yourself in and let us see Bane, then we can sort though everything.”

The father is on felony probation and has a past criminal record for assault and domestic violence.

Please call 911 immediately if you see them.
