Pinellas deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a three vehicle crash in St. Pete Beach. The crash occurred at approximately 1:04PM on Monday, March 23, 2015 in the area of Gulf Boulevard and 72nd Avenue in St. Pete Beach.
Deputies reported that Erica Hubbell, a 33 year-old driver of a 2003 Toyota Corolla, was traveling Northbound in the Southbound lanes of Gulf Blvd according to Sgt. Elizabeth Brady of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Â She collided head-on with a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country and side swiped a 2009 Chrysler 300.
Fire/Rescue crews worked to free Hubbell for over 30 minutes as she was entrapped in the badly damaged Corolla. Â She was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma alert with what the Sheriff’s Office now describes as non-life threatening injuries
The driver of the Town & County has been identified as 64 year-old Joan Rouse of St. Petersburg and the driver of the Chrysler 300, 71 year-old James Eastman of South Pasadena. Both Rouse and Eastman were also transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash according to deputies.
