Fire Displaces Residents At The Anglers Cove Condos On Redington Shores

Multiple agencies responded to a 2nd alarm structure fire at 17450 Gulf Blvd in Redington Shores. The building includes six floors with eight, three bedroom condos on each floor. The initial call for service came in about 2:30 PM for reports of a worker that was electrocuted while working on the building’s electrical system. Additional reports were received that smoke was also seen in the electrical room.
Arriving units were met in the parking lot by the electrocuted worker. It is reported that he experienced burns to his arms and upper body and was transported to Tampa General Hospital.
The sprinkler system was activated by the fire and crews worked to extinguish the fire but needed to await Duke Energy to pull the power meter going into the building. Additional units were dispatched to assist as multiple floors had smoke conditions. The fire was contained but there was significant fire, smoke and water damage.
Residents were allowed to recover their belongings and the property management group was working to find locations for all the displaced occupants.
Both local and state inspectors were on-scene to conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire.
On March 3, 2015 another 2 alarm structure fire response occurred at the Anglers Cove Condos. That fire occurred in the office of the facility.
