Three Hospitalized and Driver Flees Following Extrication Crash On Keene Road In Largo **VIDEO BELOW**

Crews from Largo Fire Rescue Department, Largo Police Department, and Sunstar Paramedics were dispatched to reports of a vehicle crash about 5:50 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2015.  The crash occurred just to the north of Rosary/McMullen Road on Keene Road.  Arriving units reported heavy damage to a Ford Taurus with a two occupants entrapped.

An extensive extrication operation commenced and a request was made to dispatch an air transport for the entrapped driver. The passenger was easily removed from the vehicle but freeing the driver required an extensive and prolonged extrication operation.  Additional resources were requested from Largo Fire Rescue, Sunstar, and Clearwater Fire & Rescue.  Bayflite landed north of the crash scene on Keene Road near the entrance of Eagle Lake Park.

The extricated driver was transported to Bayfront Health – St. Petersburg via Bayflite with serious injuries. The passenger of the Ford Taurus and one other victim at the scene were also transported to Bayfront via Sunstar Paramedics.

The driver of one of vehicles fled the scene after the crash. Witnesses reported that the man headed north on Keene Road on foot and may have entered Eagle Lake Park.  It did not appear that the man was apprehended but limited information regarding his identify was known.

Both directions were closed to traffic during the incident as Largo Police Department investigated the crash and the roadway was cleared.
