Shortly before 3 p.m., Largo Police Officers were dispatched to 1733 S Jefferson Avenue in reference to a Person with a Weapon call.

The victim called 911 advising that her boyfriend was holding her and her 5-year-old son hostage.  Officers received information from the victim that indicated he was threatening to kill the victim, and himself.

The victim and her son were able to escape from the residence to a neighbor’s residence.

Responding units established an inner and outer perimeter of the home, and evacuated adjoining residences. Attempts to contact the subject via phone, social media, and megaphone failed.

The Tactical Apprehension and Control (TAC) Team was deployed and arrived on scene and took control of the situation. A throw telephone was deployed into the residence in attempt to make contact with the subject, however, no contact was made.

After breaching several windows to the residence, the subject was located inside one of the bedrooms. He was located with the assistance of a robotic device.

The victim had an active injunction for protection against the subject who was taken into custody without incident at about 5:52 p.m.

A loaded firearm described by the victim was located inside the same bedroom where the subject was taken into custody.

After engaging in a verbal dispute, Desormeaux retrieved a gun and held it to her head and said, “Do you want me to do it?”

Desormeaux and the victim reportedly have three children together.
He is facing charges of
