Wesley Chapel Man Killed After Motorist Turns Left in Front of His Motorcycle
A 29 year-old Justin Lovig of Wesley Chapel was killed in a crash that occurred on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at approximately 6:47 p.m. The crash occurred at Old Pasco Road and Quail Hollow Blvd in Pasco County.
51 year-old Mary Bitting of Wesley Chapel was traveling southbound on Old Pasco Road, attempting to make a left turn onto Quail Hollow Blvd in a 2002 Lexus RX.
Lovig was operating a 2008 motorcycle and traveling southbound on Old Pasco Road approaching Quail Hollow Blvd.
According to FHP, Bitting, failing to yield, turned left into the path of the motorcycle.
As a result, the front of Honda motorcycle collided with the passenger side of Lexus.
Lovig died at the scene of the crash.
FHP reports that Lovig was not wearing a helmet and does not believe that alcohol was involved in the crash.
Charges are pending and the investigation continues.

This is a horrible intersection I’m hoping they put in turn lanes. its sad he had to die but maybe it’s a wake up call for the county to do something. My prayers are with both families.
