Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating a motorcycle vs. a marked patrol car crash in Seminole.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 12:15 a.m. this morning, the driver of a 2007 Harley Davidson was traveling southbound on Seminole Blvd. when he came to a stop in the left turn lane. Deputy Brian Overton was traveling northbound on Park Blvd. entering the intersection when the Harley Davidson began to turn left, striking the front fender of the deputy’s patrol car.
Deputy Brian Overton was not injured in the crash.
The driver of the Harley Davidson, identified as 56-year-old Robert Gold, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.
Upon release from the hospital, deputies conducted a field sobriety test on Gold. Gold was arrested for DUI and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
The investigation continues.
