Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence on Cypress View Drive in Oldsmar shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019.
The call for service was in reference to an armed subject at the residence that threatened to commit suicide.
Although an armored vehicle was at the scene, this was not a SWAT situation according to the Sgt. Spencer Gross of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).
PCSO believed the subject is in the home alone.
Surrounding residences were evacuated as deputies attempted to make contact with the subject.
As of 11:20 p.m., deputies confirmed that a 23 year-old male was found deceased inside the home from what appears to be a self-inflicted injury.
Residents were permitted to return to their homes shortly after the resolution of the situation.Â
Any update yet? Headed back home, which is in a surrounding neighborhood and want to know if I still have to take a back way out!
