The St. Petersburg Police continue to investigate a fatality crash involving a motorcyclist.

The crash occurred on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of 40th Avenue NE.

Investigators say that a Hyundai Sonata, driven by Margaret Sherry Capabianco,
age 71, was eastbound on 40th Avenue Northeast in the 1100 block. She turned left to go into a driveway and into the path of a westbound Kawasaki motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver, 26 year-old Michael Paul Lyon, hit the right side of
Capabianco’s Hyundai.

Lyon was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he was pronounced dead from the injuries he received in the crash.

Police say impairment was not a factor for Capabianco and the investigation is ongoing.

  1. No doubt in my mind, she just didn’t see him. Even if she did she probably figured that she could make it into the driveway in time to avoid him. So sad. She will never be able to forgive herself if she feels guilty. Maybe it’s time for her to stop driving.
    Prayers for all family members.
