Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a robbery at the Circle A Food Store located at 1201 Sunset Point Rd in Unincorporated Clearwater.
The call for service was at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019.

Detectives currently remain on-scene and continue their investigation.
The suspect is not in custody at this time.

Pending further investigation, deputies reported that it did not appear a robbery. This call was changed to an assault/battery.
Investigators say that the suspect entered the store with the intent to shoplift and was confronted by the store owner.
The store owner sustained minor injuries during the struggle, according to deputies.
