Troopers searching for wrong-way driver involved in crash on I-275 in St. Petersburg

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are searching for the wrong-way driver of a vehicle that caused a crash at approximately 8:54 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020.

The hit and run vehicle was traveling northbound on I-275, south of 54th Avenue S, in the southbound lanes.

The driver of a Mercedes ML350, 42 year-old Edith Soto of Dunedin, was traveling southbound on I-275.

The two vehicles sideswiped each other as the passed. Neither Soto nor her passenger were injured in the crash.

It is unknown where the wrong way vehicle began traveling in the direction. It is only described as a passenger car.
