Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are investigating a fatal single vehicle, single occupant crash at 1100 Tarpon Woods Boulevard in Palm Harbor.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:08 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
According to troopers, 60 year-old Patricia Mokrycki of Palm Harbor was operating a 2019 Honda Fit eastbound on Tarpon Woods Boulevard east of Kumar Drive.
While accelerating rapidly, Mokrycki lost control of the vehicle which departed the roadway and onto the shoulder on the south side of the roadway. The vehicle collided with two trees.
Mokrycki died at the scene of the crash.
The investigation into the crash continues, Based on preliminary information, Mokrycki was wearing her seat belt and the crash does not appear to be alcohol related.
