Shooting overnight in St. Petersburg leaves one dead and two others injured

St. Petersburg Police Department continues to investigate a shooting that occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020. It occurred at 1301 MLK St. S as an officer on a directed patrol was informed that shots were fired just prior to his arrival at the location.

Shortly afterwards, victims started arriving at local hospitals with gunshot wounds.

Resnick Hampton Jr., age 28, died and two others suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Christopher Hawkins, age 47, was arrested on a warrant, after he was treated for a graze wound.
